Leicester Beer Festival 2020<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/a>Leicester Beer Festival\u00a0from Wednesday 26th to Saturday 29th February 2020 at\u00a0the Haymarket Theatre, right in the heart of the city centre.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Haymarket Theatre is a well known city centre landmark building but if you\u00a0need a map, click here<\/a>. Access is available via the staircase on Belgrave Gate or via the lifts in the middle of the Haymarket Shopping Centre.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There is no need for advance tickets, although they are available from the Haymarket Theatre website<\/a> including a special \u00a320.20 gift package option<\/a>, which makes an ideal\u00a0present or\u00a0just treat yourself. This is our best value package and CAMRA members receive an extra \u00a33 of beer vouchers.
\nIn the event of a queuing system for admissions, ticket holders would be fast tracked.\u00a0To speed entry, an on the door package\u00a0for\u00a0\u00a315\u00a0includes admission plus\u00a0a special festival glass and \u00a37 of beer tokens (CAMRA members receive an extra \u00a33 of beer tokens). Glass and unused tokens are fully refundable.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nCash and card transactions\/contactless accepted at the door and token purchase points.\u00a0Accompanied children are allowed in the festival until 7pm, although they should not approach the bars.\u00a0 Sorry, no dogs are allowed apart from recognised assistance dogs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\nOur main Festival supporter is Everards of Leicestershire<\/a>, who return with their pop up bar, serving their much loved Tiger copper ale alongside a selection of their other beers including Golden Hop, a zesty and refreshing ale with a bold hop flavour and Tighthead, a rugby inspired ruby beer, with delicious roasted and caramel flavours.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nAlso back\u00a0this year will be the popular Travelling Juniper Berries speciality Gin and Prosecco bar, provided by our friends at the Black Horse in\u00a0Aylestone, featuring around\u00a030\u00a0gins, many from local independent producers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Festival Theme & Glass<\/span><\/span>

\nOur theme this year is “20\/20 Vision” to mark the new decade. Use your 20\/20 vision to seek out your perfect pint!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The festival glass will feature our commemorative logo, shown left, and will be available in half pint tankards\u00a0marked at 1\/3 and 1\/2 pint measures, and pints straight glasses lined at 1\/3, 1\/2\u00a0and 1 pint, which will be\u00a0priced at \u00a33.00.\u00a0 This is refundable when you have finished as long as the glass is not damaged.\u00a0 They do make great souvenirs to take home though! You can also bring your own glass to use but it must be\u00a0government or CE stamped and must be lined.<\/p>\n


\nFestival Special Brews<\/span><\/span>
\nWe are\u00a0arranging some interestingly named one-off brews with our local breweries in connection with our 20\/20 Vision\u00a0theme.\u00a0 We don’t have\u00a0beers that have been <\/span>re-badged or renamed for our festival, so all of our festival specials are genuine first time brews.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\nLocAle Bar <\/span><\/span>
\nLeicester Beer Festival supports our local breweries.\u00a0Our dedicated LocAle bar features beers\u00a0many East Midlands\u00a0breweries, all in one handy place!.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nFestival Food
\n<\/span><\/span>Our food stall will see the return of the popular scotch eggs from last year and will also feature sausage\u00a0rolls and local pork pies. Other snacks will be available.\u00a0The curry stall will have related snacks available and a street\u00a0food twist.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Entertainment<\/span>\"\"<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span>We hope to\u00a0host Leicester Morrismen on the Wednesday evening and Anstey Morrismen on Saturday to entertain and you may even get the opportunity to join in!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nWe need a hand – be a Festival Maker ! <\/span>\"\"<\/span>
\n<\/span>We cannot run the\u00a0beer festival without the help of an army of over 100 volunteers across\u00a0the duration of the event.\u00a0 We start on the previous weekend,\u00a0preparing for and receiving deliveries,\u00a0over 200 casks! We also need to build the\u00a0<\/span>bars and stillage to then enable us to get the beers ready to serve. Once we open on the Wednesday we need volunteers to serve beer & cider to customers, together with a whole host of other jobs that need doing.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s\u00a0a fun experience and you’ll meet great people, do new things, and adds to your CV. Plus we reward you with beer tokens and food. We will give you a Health and Safety briefing and training is given if required.\u00a0 We have loads of jobs that need doing, so if you don’t fancy working behind a bar we can find something for you such as glasses, admissions, food etc.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0

Our festival charities<\/span>
\n<\/span>Leicester Beer Festival is working with two local charities who are fundraising during the event.\u00a0 LOROS is a Leicester hospice providing highly regarded\u00a0end of life care.\u00a0 Vista has been working with people with sight loss and their families for over 160 years and will be\u00a0offering sight screening at the festival, together with some fun sight challenges.
